New “Eclipse” trailer

April 25, 2010

While I cannot share any of my own new writing news (since there is none)…I CAN share the newest trailer for “Twilight Saga:  Eclipse” which is due in theaters June 30, 2010.  Enjoy!

Happy reading (and watching)!

Attention Twilight fans!

April 8, 2010

This news actually broke last week but I have been too busy to share it until now (my apologies!).  It was announced that Stephenie Meyer, who had declared herself on an indefinite hiatus from writing, surprised her fans with a new novella based on her popular Twilight saga.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is being billed as an Eclipse novella, meaning that it would fit into the story of the Eclipse book (the third book in the series of four).  For those of you who do not recall, Bree Tanner was one of the newborn vampires created by Victoria for the sole purpose of waging war on the Cullens and killing Bela.  The poor girl was not a fan of killing and for a short while, she is taken in by the Cullen family, but still met an untimely end at the hands of the Volturi.

On her website, Meyer stated that she had been writing Bree’s story around the same time she was editing Eclipse and before Twilight had even been released.  It was not meant to give much information about Bree’s life before becoming a vampire but rather tell about what was happening in Seattle as Victoria prepared her army for an attack on the Cullens and Bela Swan.

When Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter for all of the Twilight Saga movies, was writing the Eclipse screenplay, Meyer gave her a copy of the manuscript under a heavy veil of secrecy, so Rosenberg could incorporate Bree’s story in the movie as back-story.  She even went as far as to allow the actors playing the “bad vampires” (Victoria, Riley, and Bree) read the script so that they could understand and better portray their characters.

The novella was originally supposed to make its appearance in The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide but it turned out to be too long for that, so the novella got its own release.  Meyer wanted to offer it to free her fans, so a compromise was reached.  The book itself comes out in stores on June 5th, 2010 for those who want to buy it to add to their Twilight Saga collection, but from June 7th through July 5th, it will also be available online at for fans to read for free.  Additionally, one dollar of each book purchased (U.S. only) will go toward Haiti and Chile earthquake relief via the American Red Cross and if fans choose to read it online, they are encouraged (but not required) to make a donation via the website as well.

So mark your calendar for June 5th (novella release in book form) and June 7th (novella release for free on-line).  Order your copy in advance here!  The release date gives you plenty of time to read it before the Eclipse movie hits theaters on June 30th!

Happy reading!

Cakes take, well….the cake!

April 3, 2010

I have been super-duper busy with worrying about my day job as well as making cake after cake with Meghan for our family and friends.  It seems like the spring is a busy one for things like birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, graduations, and more.  We are thrilled that everyone loves our cakes so much that they keep coming to us for more, but it has meant that my writing has been indefinitely put on hold.  Perhaps once summer comes, I will have more time to write – although I will still be working a day job.  Phooey!  Work gets in the way of play, but I have to pay the bills somehow! 😦

Oh well.

So be patient with me – “Hidden” and “The Art of Love” will get published – just not soon; maybe late summer or early fall.  Check back here periodically for updates and a sneak peek or two, as well as for posts of other writing-related things!

Until then, happy reading!

“Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Sneak Peek

March 14, 2010

Okay, so pardon me for digressing so much lately from anything purely writing related but with the looming release of the “Twilight Saga: New Moon” DVD this coming week as well as the much-anticipated release of “Eclipse”, I find myself sidetracked.  I am a woman obsessed and not much unlike the millions of screaming teenage fans – although I am not actually screaming…just squealing quietly once in a while.

So here is a sneak peek at the “Eclipse” movie so that you too can satisfy your need for all things “Twilight” related.

“Twilight Saga: Eclipse” 90-second trailer is finally out!

March 11, 2010

For once in my life, words are failing me so I will just let you see it for yourself:

Now let’s count down to the movie release….

Oh, and don’t forget that Robert Pattinson’s new movie “Remember Me”, also starring Emilie de Ravin, comes out tomorrow (March 12, 2010) in theaters everywhere. The “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” trailer will be one of the previews for it!

Happy reading and movie watching!

“Twilight Saga: Eclipse” movie 10 second trailer sneak peek!

March 11, 2010

A student of mine (who is as obsessed as I have ever seen a teenage girl be) informed me amidst a cacophony of squeals that there would be a 10-second sneak peek at the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” trailer today at 9:00am EST.  I must admit that her announcement sent a shiver of anticipation down my spine, and so at the appointed time, I too logged onto to check it out.

I have one word in response to what I saw:  YUM!  I join the millions of obsessed “Twilight” fans when I admit that I simply cannot wait to see this movie.  And to celebrate?  I will reread the book for the umpteenth time! (BTW, “Eclipse” is set to open on June 30th, 2010.)

Check out the trailer sneak peek here and stay tuned tomorrow for the 90-second peek to follow!  Oh, and Robert Pattinson, if you are reading this…my husband knows that I am enamored with you and is okay with it, so feel free to call!  Lol

Happy reading (and drooling)!

Totally random but equally cute! The latest pet craze: teacup pigs

March 8, 2010

Several students recently told me about teacup pigs as pets.  I didn’t believe them at first, but apparently this is a new craze.  You can get a petite porker to keep as a pal starting at about $600 (not that much more than a dog).  I just had to check this phenomenon out.  See for yourself how darned cute they are!!!

And just to make me feel better about including this totally random posting on my writing blog…look for a teacup pig pet to appear in my next novel!  Oh, and go (re)read “Charlotte’s Web” because I am sure that Wilbur was the first time I ever heard of a pig as a pet!

 Happy reading!
